ISO-9001 Certification For Machine Shops

ISO-9001 is the Certification of Authority to use the Official API Monogram. Businesses use the standard to ensure that their products and services are to customers and all regulatory requirements. There is an entire ISO 9001 series, however, the ISO-9001 is the only standard that organizations can certify. It can help you to continually improve, streamline operation and reduce costs.

The ISO-9001 Certification is used in many organizations and businesses and of course is important for our Edmonton machine shop. As a company providing and creating products used in the oilfield, manufacturing and transportation industries it is important that all of our products and processes in our shop are held to the utmost standards.

ISO-9001 requires specific procedures for the organization to maintain. The information includes topics, such as: -Requirements for a quality management system, including documented information, planning and determining process interactions.

-Responsibilities of management.

-Management of resources, including human resources and an organization’s work environment.

-Product realization, including the steps from design to delivery.

-Measurement, analysis, and improvement of the QMS through activities like internal audits and corrective and preventive action.

That being said it is not the ISO-9001 Certification that should define a machine shop, but the execution of a quality management system in place and strict control over your processes and procedures.
